Privacy Policy

ModusPad is built so that your data stays on your Mac. Your launcher layouts, profiles, settings and usage statistics are stored only on your Mac and are never sent to us.

What leaves your Mac, and why

• Trial start — an anonymous identifier of your Mac (a one-way hash of the hardware ID, not the serial number) is sent to our server to record when your trial started, so it can't be restarted.
• License activation and checks — your license key, the same anonymous Mac identifier and your Mac's name (so you can recognise it in the list of activated Macs) are sent to our licensing provider to activate and verify your license, about once a day.
• Update checks — the app asks our server whether a new version is available. The request includes the app version.
• Purchases — our payment provider processes your name, email, billing country and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email and order details to provide your license and support.
• Support — if you email us, we keep the correspondence to help you.
• Website — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or collect personal data. Our servers, hosted by Cloudflare, may log IP addresses for security for a limited time.

What we don't do

No tracking, no advertising, no selling of data, no analytics inside the app.
